Banjo

The idea for Banjo started when its Founder, Damien Patton, became determined to solve one of the most common but difficult problems out there — making the world’s disparate data purposeful — and doing so live. Over the past 7 years, Banjo has continued to pioneer artificial intelligence technology that reinvents what’s possible in a truly connected world.
Banjo, born from Damien winning an engineering hackathon at Google in 2010, is the world’s first Live-Time Intelligence platform that gives decision makers the ability to understand what is happening live, anywhere. Imagine how many lives will be saved when we deliver live-time information to know exactly what is happening, where it is happening, the moment it happens.
Damien is an industry authority on the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence and data. Banjo’s first patents were focused on protecting user privacy by delivering information without any personally identifiable information. As a military veteran of Desert Storm and former crime scene investigator, Damien draws on this experience for Banjo’s mission of saving lives and reducing human suffering by using technology for good.

The startup’s computing power allows them to capture, store and leverage the world’s signals at warp speed, and perform over 100 quadrillion computations per hour on about 50 thousand social posts per minute to be able to make content available in real-time.
Banjo currently powers anything related to breaking stories, but in the future the team sees the platform essentially like a crystal ball, informing you immediately when something important happens, fills the gaps, and instantly gets you the information you need to make faster, smarter, and better decisions.

BitLumens

BitLumens provides decentralized power to rural communities—for example, offering farmers solar home systems which they can pay in installments—which are not connected to the power line using the blockchain to provide them with a credit score.
BitLumens is building a decentralized, blockchain-based micro power-grid for the 1.2 billion people without access to electricity and banking.
To access and use BitLumens software, BLS tokens are needed. The tokens serve multiple purposes: villagers need them to pay the installments of their solar power device, banks need them to access the BitLumens SaaS (Software as a Service), family members use the tokens to send remittances.
Since most villagers do not have internet access to pay digitally their Solar Home Systems, BitLumens employs agents who will collect the payments in cash and buy a corresponding amount of BLS tokens from the open market. The BLS will then be uniquely associated with the solar power device.
Data
The devices form microgrids in places with no existing infrastructure. Our innovative software collects data and sends it to the blockchain. People can decide to make this data available to banks for microcredits and other financial services. Banks will gain access to over one billion people in need of a bank account.
Power Generation
The devices produce clean, zero-emission electricity and have an immediate impact on the quality of people’s lives. In the future, the devices can be interconnected to form micro power-grids in places without electricity, allowing people to trade energy within their communities.
Security
The devices can be locked when users get in arrears with their monthly installments. This provides the necessary security for issuing micro-credits. On the other hand, users have full control over their data. Only they decide who can access and use it.
